No, it's optional. You can chat with a host and book without meeting. But if you want to see how your pet and the host click before you commit, a meet & greet is the way to do it.
Downloading PawSure is free, and browsing your matches costs nothing. You pay when you book a stay or a meet & greet. PawSure offers fixed rates per stay, and every price, including the meet & greet fee, is shown clearly before you confirm, with no surprise fees at checkout.
Before any host can accept a booking, we verify their account against their government-issued ID, so there are no anonymous hosts. You also see their home, their experience, and the plain-language reasons they fit your pet, and you can chat with a host or meet them before you book.

Yes—and owners often make wonderful hosts. If you already love caring for your own pet, hosting is a natural fit. You can switch to hosting anytime inside the app, and you're verified the same way every host is, so other owners can trust you just like you'd want to trust them.
Just one thing: have a quick word with your building or society about having a guest pet stay. Most are completely fine with it, especially since you'll only ever have one pet at a time, but rules vary and it's much easier to ask beforehand than mid-stay. If you're in an independent house, this doesn't apply.
